Grass Riddles

Here are eight riddles for kids where grass is the answer. These ideas are therefore perfect for using with our other nature riddles.

The first five of these riddles rhyme, while the next two are both one line riddles.

The eighth and final idea is a What Am I riddle. To use that one, read the clue that’s on the first line to your children and have them take a guess at the answer. As the clue is that it’s something that has blades but which isn’t a fan, they might guess that it’s a razor, knife or a helicopter.

If they don’t guess that the answer is grass, read them the clue that’s on the second line and ask them to take another guess. Keep going until they either work out that grass is the correct answer or they run out of clues.

Hat Riddles

Here are five riddles for kids where the answer is a hat, meaning these are great for using with all our other clothes riddles.

The first four of these are rhyming riddles, while the fifth is a What Am I riddle.

To use that final idea, read the first line of the riddle to your kids and ask them to try guessing what they think is being described. As the clue is that it’s something that can be used to cover things but which isn’t a tent, they might guess that it’s an umbrella, a lid or a roof.

If they don’t guess that a hat is the answer, read them the second clue and ask them to guess again now that they have some further information. Keep doing this until they either work out that a hat is the answer or they run out of clues.

The first five of these are rhyming riddles, with the sixth being a one line riddle that contains an internal rhyme.

The final one of these riddles asks your children What Am I? To use that idea, read the clue that’s on the first line to your kids and have them take a guess at what they think the answer might be. As the clue is that it’s something that gets sold in a box but which isn’t breakfast cereal, they might guess that it’s an engagement ring, a phone or a toy.
