Tortilla Riddles

April 7, 2015 By Stephen Pepper

We’re continuing our series of riddles with a food theme this week, with today’s set having ‘tortilla’ as an answer.

The first couple of them are rhyming riddles, with the third asking What Am I?

To use the What Am I? riddle, your children should read the first line and guess what they think is being described.

If they’re not correct, they should move on to the second clue and guess again. Keep going until they guess the right answer or run out of clues.

Rice Riddles

April 2, 2015 By Stephen Pepper

We’re continuing our series of food riddles today, with this collection all having an answer of ‘rice’.

Five of these rhyme, while the final one is a What Am I? riddle. If you don’t know how What Am I? riddles work, here’s a quick explanation:

Read the first line of it to your kids (or have them read it themselves). They should then guess what it is that they think is being described.

If they don’t give the right answer, read them the second clue and have them guess again. Keep going until they either work out that you’re describing rice or until they run out of clues.

Tuna Riddles

March 31, 2015 By Stephen Pepper

We have another set of riddles for kids today that have a food theme, with the answer to all of these being ‘tuna’.

The first two of these are rhyming riddles, while the third asks your children What Am I?

To use that final option, they should read the first line and guess what it is they think is being described.

If they’re not right, they should read the second line and guess again. Keep going until they either get the correct answer or they run out of clues.

Egg Riddles

March 26, 2015 By Stephen Pepper

Today brings another set of riddles for kids with a food theme, with the answer to all of these being ‘egg’ or ‘eggs.’

Four of these cracking riddles are rhyming ones, while the last one hopefully won’t scramble their brains when asking What Am I?

To use the What Am I? riddle, read the first line to your children and have them take a guess at what they think you’re describing.

If they’re not right, read them the second line and have them guess again. Keep doing this until they work out that you’re describing an egg or until they run out of clues.

If you’re planning all kinds of egg-related activities, here’s an outdoor game that’s great for using with a group of kids.

Potato Riddles

March 24, 2015 By Stephen Pepper

We’re continuing with our series of food riddles this week, with today’s batch all having ‘potato’ as their answer.

The first four of these rhyme, while the fifth is a one line riddle which also contains a rhyme.

The sixth of these is a What Am I riddle. To use that one, have your kids read the first line and take a guess as to what they think is being described. If they’re incorrect, they should read the second clue and guess again.

They should keep going until they either guess that it’s a potato being described or they run out of clues.
