Ocean Riddles

October 15, 2015 By Stephen Pepper

For the last few weeks we’ve been publishing many different country riddles to use with your kids. We’re continuing that general theme over the next few weeks with lots of geography riddles.

That series starts today with four where the answer is ocean. The first three of them rhyme, with the word ocean completing the rhyme of the first one.

The fourth is a What Am I riddle. To use that, read your children the clue on the first line and have them guess the answer.

There are many things that have a floor – a building, a car, a shopping mall, etc – so they may not guess that the answer is ocean.

If they don’t guess the right answer, read them the second clue and have them guess again. Keep doing this until they either guess the right answer or they run out of clues.

England Riddles

October 13, 2015 By Stephen Pepper

Today we have six riddles for kids where the answer to each one is England.

These are perfect for using with all of our other country and geography riddles, with some of them also being good for using with other themes like food, sports and books.

The first five of them rhyme with the sixth asking your kids What Am I?

To use that last idea, read the first line to your children and ask them to take a guess at the answer. There are many countries that have a red and white flag, so if they don’t guess that the answer is England, read them the clue on the second line and ask them to take another guess.

Keep doing this until they either guess the right answer or they run out of clues.

October 8, 2015 By Stephen Pepper

We’re continuing our series of country riddles today with five that all have Japan as the answer.

The first four of them rhyme, with the fifth asking your kids “What Am I?”

To use the What Am I riddle, read the clue on the first line to your children and have them guess the answer.

There are quite a lot of countries that are made up of several islands, so if they don’t guess that the answer is Japan, read them the second clue and have them guess again.

Keep going until they either guess the right answer or they run out of clues.

Scotland Riddles

October 6, 2015 By Stephen Pepper

Our series of country riddles continues today with four where the answer is Scotland.

The first three of them are rhyming riddles for kids, while the fourth asks the question What Am I?

To use that final option, read the first line to your children and ask them to guess what they think the answer is. There are quite a few countries with a blue flag, so they may not guess Scotland.

If they do guess incorrectly, read them the clue on the second line and ask them to take another guess. Keep doing this until they either work out that the answer is Scotland or they run out of clues.

China Riddles

October 1, 2015 By Stephen Pepper

Here are four riddles for kids that all have China as their answer.

These are therefore perfect for using with all of our other country riddles or if you’re planning any geography activities for children.

The first three of them rhyme, while the fourth asks your kids What Am I?

To use that last riddle, read the first line to your children and have them guess what they think the answer is.

They may not know their flags well enough to know which ones have five stars on them, so if they don’t guess that China is the answer, read them the second clue and have them guess again.

Keep doing this until they either give China as the answer or they run out of clues.
