Squirrel Riddles

August 13, 2015 By Stephen Pepper

We’re continuing with our theme of animal riddles today with four where the answer is ‘squirrel.’

These are therefore also perfect for using with some of our other themes, such as books, fall and nature.

The first three of these are rhyming riddles for kids; the word ‘squirrel’ completes the rhyme of the second one.

The collection is rounded off with one that asks What Am I? To use that final idea, read the first clue to your kids and ask them to guess the answer. As it says that it’s something that climbs trees, they might guess that you’re describing a monkey.

If they don’t guess that it’s a squirrel, read them the second clue and have them guess again. Keep doing this until your children either guess that you’ve been describing a squirrel or they run out of clues.

Bear Riddles

August 11, 2015 By Stephen Pepper

Our series of animal riddles continues today with a collection that all have ‘bear’ as the answer.

These therefore also go well with many of our other themes such as books, nature and camping.

The first four of these riddles for kids rhyme, while the fifth asks them What Am I?

To use the last riddle, read the first line to your children and ask them to guess what they think the answer is. As it asks about an animal in The Muppets that’s not a pig, there’s a good chance they’ll say ‘frog’ rather than ‘bear’.

If they give an incorrect answer, read them the second clue and ask them to guess again. Keep doing this until they either give bear as the answer or they run out of clues.

Shark Riddles

August 4, 2015 By Stephen Pepper

Our series of animal riddles has proven to be very popular, so we’re continuing with that theme today with seven where ‘shark’ is the answer.

These riddles for kids therefore fit in well with many of our other themes, such as nature, movies, beach and scary.

The first five of these are rhyming ones, there’s a one liner and it’s rounded off by a What Am I? riddle.

To use the last idea, read the first line of it to your children and get them to take a guess at what they think the answer is.

The reference to teeth might make them say something like a comb, mouth or lion. If that’s the case and they don’t guess that the answer’s shark, read them the second clue and ask them to guess again.

Keep doing this until they either guess that shark is the correct answer or they run out of clues.

Dragon Riddles

July 21, 2015 By Stephen Pepper

We’re continuing our series of animal riddles today with many where the answer is in fact a mythical creature – a dragon.

These ideas therefore also go well with our riddles for kids about monsters and other types of scary things.

There are six riddles in total – the first five are rhyming ones and the sixth asks your kids What Am I?

To use the last idea, read your children the first line of it and ask them to take a guess at what they think you’re describing.

If they don’t guess correctly, read them the second clue and have them guess again. Keep doing this until they either guess that the answer is dragon or they run out of clues.
