Eye Riddles

October 25, 2016 By Stephen Pepper

Here are eight riddles for kids where the answer is an eye, so they’re perfect for using with our other anatomy and human body riddles.

The first six of these are rhyming riddles, while the seventh is a one line riddle which also rhymes.

The eighth riddle asks your kids the question What Am I? To use that What Am I riddle, read the first line to your children and ask them to take a guess at what they think the answer might be. As the clue is that it’s something that has a lid but which isn’t a can of paint, they might guess that it’s a cup of coffee, a box or a Tupperware container.

If they don’t guess that an eye is the answer, read them the second clue and ask them to guess again. Keep going until they either guess correctly that the answer is an eye or they run out of clues.

Eye Riddles For Kids

When getting someone’s attention
This is what you might try to catch
And if you’re a pirate at sea
It might be covered by a patch

~

This is something with a lid
But it’s not a coffee mug
It’s something with a socket
But it doesn’t have a plug

~

I am a body part
But I am not a knee
I am found on your face
I’m what you use to see

~

Although it’s not a curtain
This gets closed every night
So that you can go to sleep
It’s what gives you your sight

~

These come in different colours
But they are not felt tip pens
To help these things work better
You might use a contact lens

~

This thing has some lashes
But it is not a whip
It’s able to be closed
But it is not a zip
It’s part of your body
But it is not a hip
There are two on your face
But it is not a lip

~

I’m closed at night, I give you sight

~

What Am I?

I have a lid but I’m not a can of paint
I have a lens but I’m not a camera
I’m in a socket but I’m not a plug
I have an iris but I’m not a bunch of flowers
I have lashes but I don’t have a whip

Hand Riddles

October 20, 2016 By Stephen Pepper

Here are seven riddles for kids where a hand is the answer, so they’re great for using with our other human body and anatomy riddles.

The first five of these riddles rhyme, while the sixth is a one line riddle that also contains a rhyme.

The seventh and final riddle asks your kids What Am I? To use that idea, read the first line to your children and have them take a guess at the answer. As the clue is that it’s something that can be used to hold things but which isn’t a bag, they might guess that it’s a phone case, a hammock or a box.

If they don’t guess that the answer is a hand, read them the second clue and ask them to guess again now that they have some additional information. Keep doing this until they either guess that a hand is the answer or they run out of clues.

This is something with a palm
Although it is not a tree
It’s something with five nails
And it’s part of your body

~

This is what you use to write
But it is not a pen
One of these has five fingers
And two of them have ten

~

This is something you might hold
Of a person that you love
When it’s really cold outside
You might put it in a glove

~

I am a body part
That’s attached to your wrist
When I have been curled up
I am known as a fist

~

This might be made into a fist
If you are not feeling calm
This is a part of your body
That’s at the end of your arm

~

It’s attached to your wrist and it can make a fist

~

What Am I?

I can hold things but I’m not a bag
I’m used to write things down but I’m not a pen
I have digits but I’m not a cellphone
I have nails but I’m not a hook
I’m part of your body but I’m not a foot

Foot Riddles

October 18, 2016 By Stephen Pepper

Here are eight riddles for kids where the answer is a foot. These are therefore perfect for using with all of our other anatomy and human body riddles.

The first six of these are rhyming riddles, while the seventh is a one liner that also contains a rhyme.

The eighth of these is a What Am I riddle. To use that one, read the clue that’s on the first line to your children and ask them to take a guess at what they think the answer might be. As the clue is that it’s something that comes as a pair but which isn’t jeans, they might guess that it’s underwear, glasses or scissors.

If your kids don’t guess that a foot is the answer, read them the second clue and have them take another guess. Keep doing this until they either guess correctly that the answer is a foot or they run out of clues.

I’m something with five digits
But I am not a hand
When you walk along the beach
I leave prints in the sand

~

Your body has two of these
But they cannot give a kiss
You use them to help you walk
And twelve inches make up this

~

This is a body part
That can be found in twos
It is a type of length
And gets put into shoes

~

I’m a unit that measures length
Although I’m not a mile
There’s two of me on your body
But I’m not used to smile

~

This is something with digits
Although it’s not a clock
It is something with an arch
And gets put in a sock

~

I’m something that helps you move
But I am not a wheel
As I’m part of your body
With a sole and a heel

~

Your body has two, it’s put in a shoe

~

What Am I?

I come as a pair but I’m not jeans
I have several digits but I’m not a cellphone
I have an arch but I’m not a bridge
I have nails but I don’t have a hammer
I’m part of the body but I’m not a hand

Blood Riddles

October 13, 2016 By Stephen Pepper

Here are seven riddles for kids where blood is the answer for each one. These are therefore ideal for using with our other human body and Halloween riddles.

The first five of these are rhyming riddles, with the word ‘blood’ completing the rhyme of the fifth.

The sixth is a one line riddle that contains an internal rhyme, with the seventh asking your children What Am I?

To use that What Am I riddle, read the first line to your kids and have them try to guess what they think the answer might be. As the clue is that it’s something red but which isn’t a strawberry, they might guess that it’s a sports car, rose, stop sign or a fire truck.

If they don’t guess that the answer is blood, read them the clue on the second line and ask them to take another guess now that they have some additional information. Keep going until they either work out that blood is the answer or they run out of clues.

This is found in your body
From your feet up to your head
It is a type of liquid
And it is the color red

~

I’m something that can be pumped
But I am not a tire
I am a body fluid
That’s drunk by a vampire

~

This is something you can donate
Although it isn’t money
If you cut into a rare steak
Then this is what you will see

~

It’s red and part of your body
But it is not lips that can kiss
Instead it’s a type of liquid
Mosquitos like to suck up this

~

I’m a thick liquid
But I am not mud
I’m in your body
I’m red – I am _ _ _ _ _

~

I’m something that is red, lose too much and you’re dead

~

What Am I?

I’m red but I’m not a strawberry
I have different types but I’m not an apple
I can be pumped but I’m not a bicycle tire
I can be donated but I’m not money
I contain cells but I’m not a jail
I’m in your body but I’m not your heart

Bones Riddles

October 11, 2016 By Stephen Pepper

Here are five riddles for kids where the answer is bones. These are therefore perfect for using with many of our other riddle themes such as anatomy, the human body and Halloween.

The first four of these are rhyming riddles, while the fifth asks your kids What Am I?

To use that fifth idea, read the clue that’s on the first line to your children and ask them to take a guess at what they think the answer could be. As the clue is that it’s something white but which isn’t a sheet of paper, they might guess that it’s a snowman, milk or a slice of bread.

If they don’t guess that bones are the answer, read them the second clue and ask them to take another guess. Keep doing this until they either correctly guess that the answer is bones or they run out of clues.

Bones Riddles For Kids

Vertebrae and ribs
Skull and phalanges
Femur and sternum
What are all of these?

~

Your body has lots of these
Including the tibia
Several are in your spine
And there’s three in your ear

~

You will find 206
Inside adult human bodies
Together they’re a skeleton
Ligaments connect all of these

~

These are a part of your body
Sometimes they’re large, sometimes they’re little
They’re white and they can be broken
And in some people they are brittle

~

What Am I?

I’m white but I’m not a sheet of paper
I come in different shapes and sizes but I’m not a snowflake
I can be broken but I’m not a window
I can be brittle but I’m not peanut butter
I’m sometimes humerus but I’m not funny
