Our series of riddles for kids about household items continues today with five where the answer is a toaster.

These can also therefore be used with our other riddles about appliances and things you can specifically find in a kitchen.

The first four of these are rhyming riddles, with the word ‘toaster’ completing the rhyme of the fourth one.

The fifth and final riddle asks your kids the question What Am I? To use that riddle, read your children the clue listed on the first line and ask them to try to guess the answer.

The clue is that it’s something in their house but which isn’t a TV. As the clue is quite vague, they might guess that it’s a bed, a toothbrush, a sofa or one of many other possible objects.

If they don’t get lucky and guess that a toaster is the answer with their first guess, read them the second clue and ask them to take another guess. Keep going until they either realize that the correct answer is a toaster or they run out of clues.

We’re continuing with our series of riddles about items found around the house today with five where the answer is a refrigerator. These therefore also work well with all of our other kitchen and appliance riddles.

To use the What Am I riddle, read the clue that’s on the first line to your children and have them try to guess what the answer is. The clue is that it’s something that has shelves but which isn’t a bookcase, so they might guess that it’s a grocery store, a cupboard or a garage.

If they don’t guess that a refrigerator is the answer, read them the second clue and have them take another guess taking into account this extra information. Keep doing this until they either guess the correct answer or they run out of clues.

Our series of household item riddles continues today with another item that can often be found in a kitchen, as today’s set all have a washing machine as their answer.

The first five of these rhyme, with the words ‘washing machine’ completing the rhyme of the fifth one.

The sixth idea is a What Am I riddle. To use that one, read the first line to your kids and ask them to guess the answer. The clue is that it gets filled with water but isn’t a drinking glass, so your children might try guessing that it’s a bathtub, a sink or a rain barrel.

If they don’t guess that the answer is a washing machine, read them the clue that’s on the second line and have them take another guess now that they have some further information. Keep going until they either guess correctly that it’s a washing machine or they run out of clues.
