3 Eye Patch Riddles For Kids

Eye Patch Riddles For Kids

When you meet a pirate
Then you might say aye aye
But don’t stare too closely
At what’s on his eye eye

~

For pirates who have lost an eye
They can still see with the other
One thing they might choose to wear though
Is this special little cover

~

If you are a pirate
And you get in a fight
You might need to wear this
If you lose half your sight

Shiver Me Timbers Riddles

January 4, 2014 By Stephen Pepper

Here are some riddles for kids where the answer is ‘Shiver Me Timbers!’

The first couple of these are rhyming riddles, while the final one is a one line riddle.

Shiver Me Timbers Riddles For Kids

Are my eyes deceiving me?
Am I being silly?
Or are all those planks of wood
Looking really chilly?

~

This pirate phrase is what you get
If you take a two by four
And then place it on a shelf
Inside of a freezer door

~

This pirate saying makes it sound like your forest is cold.

Anchor Riddles

December 31, 2013 By Stephen Pepper

Here are several riddles for kids where the answer to each one is an anchor.

These rhyming riddles are therefore great for using with some of our other riddle themes like ones to do with pirates or sailing.

4 Anchor Riddles For Kids

Anchor Riddles For Kids

If you’re getting close to land
And you need your ship to stop
You’ll take down all your sails
And this item you will drop

~

A ship drops this to stay still
Even if the water’s calm
It is also a tattoo
You can see on Popeye’s arm

~

When you’re coming to a stop
This is what you will
Drop on to the sea bed
To make your ship stay still

~

One Line Riddle

You drop me when you want to stop and lift me up when you want to go.

Wooden Leg Riddles

December 28, 2013 By Stephen Pepper

Here are a couple of riddles for kids where the answer is ‘Wooden Leg’.

These rhyming riddles are therefore great for using with some of our riddle themes – themes like:

  • Pirates
  • Human Body
  • Anatomy

The first of these riddles is a little harder than many of our other ideas, so it might therefore be best for using with older kids, unless you explain to younger children what a tibia is.

Wooden Leg Riddles For Kids

A pirate who’s lost a tibia
Might replace it with this thing
That will help him to still walk around
Instead of just hopping

~

If you lose part of a limb
From just below the knee
Then you could replace it with
This thing made from a tree

Snow Riddles

December 17, 2013 By Stephen Pepper

Here are many different riddles for kids where the answer is snow (or snowflakes).

These are therefore perfect for using with many of our other riddle themes like:

  • Christmas
  • Weather
  • Winter
  • Nature

There are also many different types of riddles listed below:

1. Rhyming – Most of these riddles rhyme. For a couple of them, the rhyme is completed by the word ‘snow’, which should help your kids to work out the answer.

2. One Line – This one is a little bit harder, so is probably better for using with older kids.

3. What Am I? – For this one, read the clue that’s on the first line to your kids and get them to guess what they think the answer is. If they don’t guess correctly, read out the second clue and have them guess again. Keep going until they either get the right answer or run out of clues.

9 Snow Riddles For Kids

Snow Riddles For Kids

Dropping down from the sky
More beautiful than rain
There are no two pieces
That ever look the same

~

It isn’t hail
And it isn’t rain
But you love to see
This white stuff again

~

It’s made up of flakes
But it doesn’t come from corn
Way up in the clouds
Is where all these flakes are born

~

When it’s cold in winter
This is something you love
It’s like tiny white stars
Falling from up above

~

On a winter’s day
When a cold wind does blow
You might get to see
This white stuff that’s called _ _ _ _

~

The best thing about winter
Is when outdoors you go
And have a fight with your friends
Using balls made out of _ _ _ _

~

No matter how far
You travel or hike
You’ll never find two
Flakes of this alike

~

This type of winter precipitation always has a unique variation

~

What Am I?

I fall but I never get back up
I’m unique but I’m not a fingerprint
I’m sometimes part of a ball but I’m not leather
If I get warm enough I go away but I’m not a winter wardrobe
I’m sometimes part of a man but I don’t have any skin
