Train Riddles

April 12, 2016 By Stephen Pepper

For the last couple of weeks we’ve been publishing a series of riddles for kids with a transport theme.

We’re continuing that series today with five riddles where the answer is a train.

The first four of these rhyme, with the word ‘train’ completing the rhyme of the fourth one.

The final idea is a What Am I riddle. To use that one, read the clue on the first line to your children and ask them to guess the answer.

As the clue is that it’s something that has seats but which isn’t a living room, they might guess that the answer is a classroom, a car or a bus.

If they don’t guess that a train is the answer on their first attempt, read them the second clue and have them guess again. Keep going until they either work out the correct answer or they run out of clues.

Bicycle Riddles

April 7, 2016 By Stephen Pepper

Our series of transport riddles for kids is continuing today with six where the answer is a bicycle.

The first five of these are rhyming riddles, with the sixth asking your kids What Am I?

To use that final riddle, read the first line of it to your children and have them take a guess at the answer. As the clue is that it has a chain but it isn’t a prisoner, they might guess that it’s a lock on a front door or a necklace.

If they don’t guess that a bicycle is the answer after the first clue, read them the clue on the second line and have them guess again. Keep doing this until they either guess correctly or they run out of clues.

Helicopter Riddles

April 5, 2016 By Stephen Pepper

We’re continuing our series of transport riddles today with four where the answer is a helicopter.

The first three of these rhyme, while the fourth is a What Am I riddle.

To use that final idea, read the clue on the first line to your kids and ask them to take a guess at what they think the answer would be. As the clue is that it’s something with blades but which isn’t grass, there’s a good chance that they’ll guess that the answer is a razor or a knife.

If they don’t guess correctly, read them the clue on the second line and ask them to take another guess. Keep doing this until they either guess that a helicopter is the answer or they run out of clues.

Motorcycle Riddles

March 31, 2016 By Stephen Pepper

Our series of transport riddles continues today with five which all have motorcycle as the answer.

The first four of these are rhyming riddles, while the fifth asks your kids What Am I?

To use that final idea, read the first line of it to your children and have them guess the answer. As the clue is that it’s something that can be sat on but which isn’t a toilet, they might guess that it’s an armchair, a step or a yoga ball.

If they don’t guess that the answer is a motorcycle, read them the clue on the second line and have them take another guess. Keep going until they either guess correctly or they run out of clues.

Bus Riddles

March 29, 2016 By Stephen Pepper

We’re continuing with our series of transport riddles today with five ideas where the answer to each one is a bus.

The first four of these are rhyming riddles, with the second one also working well with our other school riddles.

The fifth of these is a What Am I riddle. To use that one, read the clue on the first line to your kids and ask them to take a guess at the answer.

As the clue is that it’s something that follows a route but which isn’t a mailman, they might guess that it’s someone delivering papers, an airplane or something else.

If they don’t guess that a bus is the answer, read them the second clue and ask them to take another guess. Keep going until they either guess that the answer is a bus or until they run out of clues.
