Stairs Riddles

Here are five riddles for kids where the answer is a set of stairs, so they’re perfect for using with all of our other riddles about household items.

The first four of them are rhyming riddles, with the word ‘stairs’ completing the rhyme of the fourth.

The fifth of these is a What Am I? riddle. To use that one, read the first line of it to your kids and have them take a guess at the answer. As the clue is that it’s something that goes up and down but which isn’t a helicopter, they might guess that it’s an airplane, an umbrella or a chimney sweep.

If they don’t guess that it’s some stairs, read your children the second clue and ask them to take another guess. Keep doing this until they either guess that stairs is the answer or they run out of clues.

If your kids give the answer as ‘staircase’ for any of these, that’s also an acceptable answer unless you’ve given them the fourth riddle as that wouldn’t rhyme.

Table Riddles

Here are seven riddles for kids where a table is the answer for each of them. These ideas are therefore great for using with all of our other household item and furniture riddles.

The first six of these riddles rhyme, with the word ‘table’ completing the rhyme of the sixth.

The seventh of these is a What Am I riddle. To use that one, read the first line to your children and have them take a guess at what they think the clue might be referring to. As the clue is that it’s something that has four legs but isn’t a camel, they might guess that it’s a cat, dog or a chair.

If they don’t guess that the answer is a table, read them the second clue and ask them to take another guess. Keep going until they either work out that a table is the correct answer or they run out of clues.

Window Riddles

Here’s a collection of six riddles for kids where the answer is a window, so there are perfect for using with all of our other household item riddles.

The first four of these are rhyming riddles, while the fifth is a one line riddle which also has an internal rhyme.

The sixth of these asks your kids What Am I? To use that idea, read the clue that’s on the first line to your children and ask them to take a guess as to what they think the answer might be. As the clue is that it’s something that has a frame but which isn’t a bicycle, they might guess that it’s a pair of glasses, a door or a photograph.

If they don’t guess that a window is the answer, read them the second clue and have them take another guess. Keep doing this until they either guess correctly that it’s a window or they run out of clues.
